Your carrier pays. We check the math.
A claim is the product you actually bought. Here’s exactly what to do in the first hour, what our claims desk does behind the scenes, and when to push back on a valuation.
Do these, in this order.
Get safe, get seen
Move out of traffic, hazards on. If anyone might be hurt, 911 first — an ER visit today beats a disputed injury claim next month.
Document like an adjuster
Wide shots of the scene, close-ups of every panel, the other car’s plate, license and insurance card, and every witness’s number. Thirty photos is not too many.
Report it — to us or the carrier
Call the 24/7 claims line and we’ll file together, or file in the carrier’s app and forward us the claim number. Either way our desk gets a copy.
Say less, sign nothing
Give facts, not fault. Don’t accept an early settlement or a recorded statement from the other side’s insurer before your advisor has read the file.
What advocacy actually means.
Every Lanewise claim lands on a desk run by a twenty-year former adjuster. We read the estimate line by line, check total-loss valuations against real local comps, and tell you when a number is fair — or exactly how to push when it isn’t. Since 2019 that review has recovered over $2.1 million clients would otherwise have left on the table.
Valuations, corrected.
- $18,400
Hail total-loss first offered at $14,100 — settled at the car’s real market value
Tom pulled six local comps the desk adjuster’s software ignored and re-opened the valuation. Paid in six days.
- $42,000
Hit by an uninsured driver — the UM limits we’d insisted on paid for surgery and lost wages
The client had almost waived UM to save $9 a month. The at-fault driver carried nothing at all.
Savings figures shown are illustrative of individual client outcomes and averages across recent clients who switched; they are not a guarantee of your result. Your premium depends on your driving record, vehicle, location, coverage selections, and other rating factors. Lanewise is an insurance distributor, not an insurance company. All policies are underwritten and issued by the insurance carriers on our panel, and claims are paid by the issuing carrier. Coverage is subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions of the issued policy.
